I learnt that there are 5 pillars of Defence that is the Civil Defence, Military Defence, Social Defence, Psychological Defence and Economical Defence. These five are important as they help us to make Singapore what it is today.

I feel safe here in Singapore as these five defences are here to make sure that Singapore are able to survive the difficulties that are coming in the upcoming years.

I can help by doing some of the defence and follow the examples of it so when there is danger ahead I am able to help people that are injured and support them during their difficulties.

Total Defence is about the different things that we can do everyday in every sector of our society to strengthen our resilience as a nation. When we take National Service seriously, participate in civil emergency exercises, upgrade our skills, build strong bonds with different races and religions, and feel the pride of being Singaporean, we contribute to Total Defence.

I learnt what is total defence about and the importance of total defence and its significance.

As a proud NPCC cadet and a Singaporean I feel proud Singapore as it celebrates total defence.

As a Singaporean I can play my part by taking part in total defence campaign and also educate others on total defence. In this way we are able to strengthen our bond and be more knowledgeable about total defence. We are one nation, one people , one Singapore together we are one.

After attending this course, taught by Mr Leong. I've learnt the 5 aspects of Total Defence, during crisis, we will be well equipped by the knowledge learnt. E.g. If the neighbours' house is on fire, we can apply those knowledge of civil defence. E.g. Having strong military personnel we will be able sleep safe and sound.

After attending this course, I'm feel happy to be a Singaporean as I know that during crisis time, Singaporean are always well equipped in solving problems.

After attending this course, what I can do is go around the places to pass the knowledge that I had learnt in defending Singapore.

As a young nation with a small population and a conscript armed forces, we needed to draw on the different strengths and abilities of our community to augment our defence capability.. I also have learnt more about the 5 pillars of the Total Defence.
There are:
  1. Civil Defence, taking care of myself and family when there is crisis.
  2. Psychological Defence, to being united in pride and passion for my country.
  3. Military Defence, to keep my country secure and keep up with the latest advancements in technology to meet newchallenges in the battlefield.
  4. Social Defence, Maintaining racial and religious harmony is critical to ensuring peace and stability in Singapore.
  5. Economic Defence, to work and save to achieve a better life.
I feel that i'm proud of myself to be a singaporean, as Singapore is a religious harmony country

I learnt that our country has a backup plan in case anything happens. Even like when an elderly falls down, I will know what to do. If we are under attack, I can count on the army to protect us.

I feel that Total Defence is very important in Singapore. Without it, when any crisis happens, we will not be prepared and equipped with the skills needed to survive.

I can help to educate my family on the different types of defences and teach them what to do during different scenarios.

The singapore art museum was opened in January 1996, the mission of the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) is to preserve and present the art histories and contemporory art practices of singapore and Southeast Asian region. To date, SAM has amassed the world’s largest public collection of modern and contemporary Southeast Asian artworks with a growing component in international contemporary art. The Museum’s collection comprise over 7,000 Singapore and Southeast Asian modern and contemporary artworks and over 1000 works from its Tyler Print Collection, that include some of the most prominent names in the 20th century international art scene such as Frank Stella and Roy Lichtenstein. The collection includes paintings, sculptures, multimedia installations, drawings, prints, and photographs, among others. I feel that singapore art museum had grown to a great extend of vistors view where many people are eager to look at the unique art works. They have given enough facilties to the visitors.
The Singapore Art Museum is committed to making its facilities accessible to all visitors. Wheelchair lifts and permanent ramps located in the Museum provide easy access for wheelchairs and baby push-prams users.
Public toilets are located on each floor. Diaper changing area available in the toilets.

I have learnt that Singapore had given the opportunity for our singaporeans to know more about the spore art museum by giving them the basic knowledge through the beautiful sculptures and pictures. They are able to know what is art and how are they used in different ways. From this, I can see that art museum is one of the vivid example where it had given phsycological defence and also social defence.

After attending this course, i've learnt the 5 aspects of Total Defence. During crisis, we will be well equipped by the knowledge learnt. During non-crisis, we are also able to apply the knowledge learnt. E.g. when let says, a person is drown in a pool, anyone besides the lifeguard can help to save the person by applying the knowledge of civil defence. E.g. During this downturn, with the knowledge of the economic defence, we are able to cope with this downturn. E.g. knowing that singaporeans are protected by the military personnel, we will be rest assured that Singapore is a safe place to live in.

After attending this course, i feel proud to be a Singaporean as i know that during crisis time, Singaporeans are well equipped with the knowledge to tackle any problems face.

After attending this course, what i can do is to continue to enhance my knowledge in defending Singapore and pass the knowledge to others.

More about us

Our NPCC unit is currently run with the support of 2 Cadet Inspectors, Shoorya Prakash and Tiv Samnang. Both of them have played vital roles in the training and development of cadets in QSS and in Area 15.

Last year we also achieved the coveted Gold Award for the Unit Overall Proficiency Award (UOPA). To develop leadership qualities, desirable values and attitudes, our cadets were involved in many different HQ activities and camps. Selected cadets also represented the school at the NPCC Day Parade, Singapore Youth Festival and National Day Parade.

Our Cadets also attended various camps conducted by the school and the NPCC HQ during the March and June holidays. They honed their leadership skills and also learned to work better as a team and collectively as a Unit. This was an opportunity for our cadets to mix with their peers from other schools. Through this, they were able to pick up new ideas and foster friendships with other NPCC units within the area. To further build a stronger bond among the cadets, 46 NPCC cadets and 5 teachers had their 2D1N team building programme in Afamosa, West Malaysia.

Our NPCC unit will continue to strive hard for better results and in the process nurture our cadets to be caring and responsible citizens.
